How to Apply

To apply for an open position please go to the City Job Openings on our website at www.sjc.utah.gov. Click on the position that you have an interest in and a more detailed job description will appear. From there you will have the opportunity to fill out an application. You will also have the option to attach a resume if desired. After you fill out the application press "submit". The application will go directly to Human Resources.

You many also print an application from our website and either mail, fax or hand deliver it to South Jordan City Hall, Attention Human Resources. Blank applications are also available at City Hall.

Deadlines

• Each job opening closes by 5:00 pm unless otherwise posted
• Applications are not accepted for positions without vacancies

Application Process

• After the recruitment has closed, each application goes through a rating process based on knowledge, skills and abilities for the position, as well as job related testing may be required for specific positions.
• Candidates are then selected for an interview.
• At the time of the interview, candidates are requested to provide an Authorization for Release of Information that will allow the City to contact your references.
• After the position has been filled, emails or postcards will be sent to all candidates to inform them of the job status.

Pre-Employment Process
If you are given a conditional offer of employment, there is additional testing required to include but not limited to:

• Drug Testing
• Background Check
• Motor Vehicle Record

An orientation will be schedule for new hires that pass the pre-employment testing and background process. Orientation includes detailed information about benefits, city policies and expectations.

Additional Notes
South Jordan City is in compliance with the E-Verify Program for all new employees. Please be prepared to show two forms of identification if you are selected for a position.
