The only approved backflow assembly for irrigation/sprinkler systems is the Reduced Pressure Zone Assembly (RP, RPZ). RPs require annual testing by a state certified backflow technician. In addition to the RPs vacuum breakers are recommended for all hose outlets. These can be purchased at most sprinkler supply or hardware stores.
