1. Obtain Home Occupation Business License packet at South Jordan City Hall or download packet here.



2. Register the name of your business with Utah State Department of Commerce, located at:

3. Complete application packet
   1. Fill out all forms:
   • Read and sign "Agreement to Home Occupation Ordinance 17.98
   • Complete "Home Occupation Business License Application"
   
   
   2. Obtain mailing labels of property owners within 300 feet of your residence from Salt Lake County Recorders office, located at:

      The recorders office requires that you have the Home Occupation Business License packet with you when you request your labels. Only labels provided by the Recorders office will be accepted by the City.
   
   
   
   3. Include any applicable attachments, such as, a sketch of the floor plan of the dwelling and the area to be devoted to the home occupation with dimensions and area calculations.


4. Submit the completed application, mailing labels, sketch of floor plan and any other applicable attachments. Pay non-refundable license application fee and postage fees for labels to the South Jordan City Business License Official



5. The South Jordan City Business License Official will send a letter notifying the property owners within 300 feet of your residence that you have applied for a Home Occupation Business License. The property owners will then have 14 days to respond to our letter with any concerns.



6. If your Home Occupation Business License is approved through the application review process (Code 17.88.050) the Business License Official will prepare and mail your business license within 4-5 weeks.

2. Submit completed application and pay non-refundable license application fee. 3. Applicable City Departments and/or the Health Department will review the Business License Application packet and provide recommendation for approval or denial of the license.



4. The Business License Official will determine final approval of the license application and will either mail the business license or notice of denial within 4-5 weeks.
