This course is designed to teach youth, 11-15 years of age the responsibilities and qualities of a good babysitter. Basic childcare skills, first aid, safety issues and injury prevention skills are taught in this class. They will also learn what to expect from the person who hires them to baby-sit. Participants will receive a Babysitter Training Book put out by the American Red Cross.

Dates: 	October 7th, 9th, 14th, and 16th, 2008. 
	December 9th, 11th, 16th, 18th, 2008. (Participants must attend all classes)
Days:	Tuesdays and Thursdays 
Time:	6:30-8:30PM
Ages: 	Must be at least 11 years of age by the last day of class.
Min/Max: 	6 minimum/ 10 maximum
Fee:  	$40.00

Please bring the following items with you to class:

• A doll big enough to use in diapering skills
• Bib or towel
• Bottle to demonstrate feeding
• Notebook
• Pencil or pen

Boy Scout Merit Badge Classes
Scouts must pre-register and pre-pay in person at the main office. Participants must attend all sessions and all skills must be performed correctly in order to complete the merit badge. There must be six registered scouts to run the class. The maximum number of scouts for each class is 16. Participants must register at least 24 hours before the class begins.

Swimming Merit Badge
Pre-requisites: Must have First and Second Class swimming rank requirements and be able to swim 100 yards- 75 yards must be trudgen, front crawl, side stroke, or breast stroke and last 25 yards must be back stroke. (BSA Swim test)
CLASS DATES: September- September 23rd (7-8:30PM,) 24th (7-8:30PM,) and 25th (7-8:30PM)
November- November 4th (7-8:30PM,) 5th (7-8:30PM,) and 6th (7-8:30PM)
COST: $15.00

Lifesaving Merit Badge
Pre-requisites: Must have First and Second Class swimming rank requirements and be able to swim 400 yards- 50 yards each of front crawl, side stroke, breast stroke and elem. backstroke. The remaining 200 yards your choice from the above strokes. Must also have Swimming Merit Badge.
CLASS DATES: September- September 16th (7-8:30PM,) 17th (7-8:30PM,) and 18th (7-8:30PM)
November- November 11th (7-8:30PM,) 12th (7-8:30PM,) and 13th (7-8:30PM)
COST: $15.00

First Aid Merit Badge
Pre-requisites: Must have completed first and second class first aid requirements.
CLASS DATES: November 18th (7-8:30PM,) 19th (7-8:30PM,) and 20th (7-8:30PM)
COST: $15.00
