The Investigations Division, which was primarily staffed by a single detective in the mid-90's, now includes 7 full-time detectives assigned to the following areas:
- 3 General Investigators (Persons, Property, and Sex Crimes)
- 1 Evidence Technician/Investigator
- 1 Gangs Investigator
- 1 COP Investigator (Community Oriented Policing)
- 1 Investigations Supervisor
The Investigations Division has grown substantially in a short period of time in an attempt to keep up with the ever-increasing need to take cases further than is appropriate for patrol officers.
There are a number of tasks assigned to Investigations, which include but are not limited to:
- Active Criminal Investigations
- Narcotics
- Gang Activity
- Community Specific/Problem Area Investigations
- Crime Scene Processing and Management
- Evidence Management
- Crime Prevention and Education
